Jaunpur takes the lead by achieving 100% target in the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's push to make Uttar Pradesh a one trillion-dollar economy is gaining momentum, with youth empowerment at its core. Through a series of self-employment and entrepreneurship schemes, the state government is driving young people toward self-reliance. Among these initiatives, Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan has emerged as the most popular initiative. In just seven months of the current financial year, over 250,000 youths have applied for loans, exceeding the annual target of 150,000. Leading the way, Jaunpur has achieved 100% implementation, while Azamgarh and Ambedkarnagar follow in second and third place, respectively.

The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh stands out as the only administration in the country focused not just on creating jobs but on turning young people into successful entrepreneurs. This approach is empowering youth to build their own ventures and drive positive social change. A key pillar of this effort is the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan, which has become a game-changer for self-employment in the state. For the current financial year, the district was given a target to provide loans to 2,250 youths. Against this, 6,664 applications were received in 7 months, out of which 5,410 were forwarded to banks. Loans have already been distributed to 2,256 applicants, achieving a success ratio of 100.27%. District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar said the district, which was ranked 25th before April 2025, has made a remarkable leap through consistent outreach and counselling efforts. Regular block-level workshops are being held where bankers and applicants interact directly in the presence of senior officials to ensure every eligible youth benefits from the scheme. As a result, Azamgarh has maintained its second position in the state for several months, including October 2025.
